Established over a quarter of a century ago, Broadway is a trusted manufacturer of colour and effect masterbatches, additive masterbatches, plastic compounds and rotational moulding powders. Our materials are used in many market sectors and are supplied to plastic moulders across the UK, Europe and beyond. Many household brands have chosen to specify our accurate and consistent colourants for use in the manufacture of their plastic packaging.
We’re situated in the Suffolk countryside, reachable in around 135 minutes from London Liverpool Street. Our well-equipped site and experienced team allow us to provide high-quality materials, tailored to customers’ unique requirements. Custom colours can be matched within three to five working days and production orders are typically dispatched within just five working days. We also stock a universal masterbatch range of 122 colours, often available on next day deliveries. We pride ourselves on offering fast lead times, great value products and exceptional service.
Our story… so far
Broadway is a family-owned independent, manufacturer. Since we started operating we’ve delivered more than 53,000 custom colour matches. That’s a lot of happy customers! Our Founder and Managing Director Joe Maynard started the business in 1997 with just two other staff. We first specialised in custom colour masterbatches for the cosmetics and personal care industries. As demand for our materials grew, so did our production capacity, workforce and product range.
In 2011 we expanded part of our operations to new premises in Broadway Drive, Halesworth. This location inspired our current name and saw the beginning of our roto powder production. In 2015 we relocated to our current 90,000 ft² site in Holton. This allowed us to bring the entire business back under one roof, whilst providing room for future growth. Today Broadway provides employment for around 60 staff and we’ve grown to become a leading UK manufacturer of masterbatches, compounds and roto powders. In 2021 we entered the German market with the launch of Broadway GmbH to help grow our sales in mainland Europe. With a reputation for colour accuracy and excellent service, plastic moulders throughout the UK and Europe rely on our high-quality materials.
Consistent reinvestment allows Broadway to enhance operational efficiency, expand production capacity and foster innovation. Recent investments include a new QC area, new production lines and improved mixing facilities. In 2021 we bolstered our technical capabilities by expanding our team and investing in a new R&D laboratory. This has enabled the development of our latest materials which offer sustainability benefits. These include NIR detectable blacks, an endothermic blowing agent, bio-sourced compounds and our odour neutraliser additive. As well as developing new materials with a sustainability focus, we’re also making great strides to reduce the impact of our operations. In 2023 we made a big investment in green energy with the installation of 1,700 solar panels on our factory roof.

Masters of our craft
A combined experience of over 40 years and access to the latest pigments means our expert colourists are able to provide accuracy and consistency with your custom colours. We work to an industry-leading colour tolerance of just one Delta E, so you can rest assured your request is in safe hands. Our technicians are experts in regulatory compliance, giving you peace of mind that your materials will meet whichever standards you specify. Customers are welcome to approve their matches in our on-site colour suite, as soon as new colour plaques are made.
Our dedicated sample line mirrors our larger machines, so you can be confident an approved sample will be accurately replicated in production. To guarantee consistency, all our twin-screw extrusion machines have identical architecture. This also provides us flexibility in scheduling jobs, reducing leadtimes for our customers. Extensive in-house testing facilities include an accelerated weather testing station, allowing us to test samples for weather fastness. Our pelletised materials can be supplied as masterbatches or compounds.
We continue to experience growing demands for our high-quality rotational moulding powders, manufactured in our modern grinding facility. We have a stocked range of over 20 colours including mottles. We offer competitive lead times and always provide reliable and honest information on our turnarounds. All our roto powders are ground to 500 microns, so they’re suitable for a wide range of applications including complex mouldings. We’re the only rotational moulding powder manufacturer to produce a rotationally moulded cube of every colour we make, to demonstrate the quality and consistency of the material.
Quality Assurance
We’ve built a reputation on providing customers with high-quality materials. Every product we dispatch is made in accordance with our production procedures and must pass our rigorous QC process. An extensive, modern extraction system prevents airborne contamination on-site, which could otherwise be a risk in the manufacturing process. This, coupled with our stringent QC standards and a genuine understanding of each customer’s requirements results in a very impressive product acceptance rate of 99.8%.
Our quality control procedures, environmental management systems and health and safety management hasve been independently assessed. We hold ISO9001:2015,ISO14001:2015 and ISO45001:2018 certification. All certificates can be viewed and downloaded below.
